We celebrate Makele’s 9th birthday almost 2 weeks ago, on April 20th. The day before Aunt Shawna and Kylie came to take Makele shopping. I guess this is pay back for me getting Kylie a goldfish when she was little:
His name is Max and Makele loves him. She makes sure he is always fed on time (hopefully that will last after the novelty wears off).
On Friday night Taryn’s family came over for Pizza and Cake and Ice Cream.
She had really been hoping for a pink camera, so she was pretty excited when she got one.
And let me tell you, I went all out on the party decorations and food. Here is my inspiration:
And here is my version - Nailed it! Don’t hate me because I’m the party queen…
I was a little worried that Makele might be disappointed in the low-keyness (nice made-up word, isn’t it?) of her birthday, but she told me that it was her best birthday ever. She can be a little diva about some things, but she really is very appreciative of the things she gets and always makes sure to tell me.
On Saturday, we took the kids down to Boondocks. Jack went to a friend’s birthday party there a couple of months ago and has been begging us to go down ever since. He talked Makele into doing it for her birthday. While Jeff, Makele & Jack were playing laser tag, Aiden bowled a round of rollerball:
He was having so much fun he couldn’t slow down for two seconds for me to take the picture.
I tried to talk Aiden into riding in the bumper boats with Makele, but he was having none of it. Jeff used his ticket and rode with Jack.
