Halloween

The week prior to and including Halloween was full of all sorts of parties and gaiety.  This year Jack was set on being a Power Ranger.  Never say your child won’t be anything, because that is exactly the costume he will choose later on in his life.  Makele was a peacock (I found a tutorial for her costume here).  Aiden changed his mind several times.  I tried talking him into being a cowboy and Taylee would have been an indian, but then he wanted to be a scary monster.  Then he said a monster would be too scary, so he wanted to be something else.  Too bad I already bought the costume so there was no going back. In the end he really loved it and wanted to wear it everywhere.  Taylee was a cute little chickadee – a costume we borrowed from Aunt Taryn.

We went to the annual ward Halloween party that the young men/young women, but mostly spouses, put on.

The kids had fun cleaning out their pumpkins and then ordering me to carve them in whatever crazy design they wanted.

Makele wanted a cat, Jack spiderman and Aiden, Mickey.IMG_1230IMG_1233

The night before Halloween we went to the annual Fall Fest at Makele’s School.

On Halloween morning, we went and watched Jack march in his school’s parade.  He was going so fast that I almost missed him – Aiden had to tell me he was going by.

Finally on Halloween night it was time for the big trick-or-treating event.  After going to Warrens for free kids meals (every child in a costume ate for free), we headed around our neighborhood begging for candy.  About halfway through, Aiden decided he was done and sat in the stroller eating his candy while Jack and Makele were still going strong.

The weather was perfect – no need for coats or jackets even.  The kids got a ton of candy and went to bed happy as little larks. ;)

What?! Why didn't you tell me kids ate for free at Warrens.
