Thanksgiving Weekend

We spend Thanksgiving Weekend with my parents and siblings.  Everyone was there except my sister’s family, so it was quite crazy at times with 13 kids running around.  But the kids loved playing with their cousins.

Thursday morning Jeff went on his usual daily newspaper run and brought back a couple newspapers for everyone to look through the Black Friday deals.  Landon, Tia and Tanner went up north that night to do some shopping.  The rest of us were too chicken to brave the crowds and did our shopping online.

Don’t ask me how she could fall asleep among all the chaos, but Taylee crawled under the table for a little siesta before her first Thanksgiving dinner.IMG_1251 I found a tutorial on Pinterest for this cute turkey bow and couldn’t resist making one for her.

Grandma provided the kids lots of entertainment: making cookies, Christmas bingo and whatever the heck they are doing here (the kids told me they were mining for gold):

On Saturday we went to the canyon to get Christmas trees.  Aiden and Taylee stayed home with Grandma to “help” make cookie dough.  With his wild tendencies, I thought it best that Aiden stayed out of the woods this year.  IMG_1275 IMG_1277 IMG_1280 IMG_1281 IMG_1283

After we got trees, we went out to eat at the new Costa Vita in town – quite the exciting attraction in a small town.  When we got home the kids had a friendly game of basketball with Uncle Landon.

Then we made Christmas cookies and the kids ate them as fast as they could get them decorated.

When we got home on Sunday Aiden kept asking me when we were going to see Grandma again.  We all had such a great time and feel lucky to have such a wonderful family with which to spend Thanksgiving!
