We headed down to Flowell for the weekend before New Year’s. All of my family came, so the kids had a lot of fun playing with their cousins. We didn’t go down until Saturday, but Jack rode down with Dustin on Friday. Grandpa hooked the sled to the tractor Saturday morning and took the kids for a little ride.
Saturday afternoon we had a second Christmas with opening gifts from my mom and dad and then going over to Grandma Robison’s for more presents. Grandma Robison continued her tradition of giving each of the grandkids nice Sunday clothes.
Saturday night we had our annual sibling white elephant gift exchange. I crocheted this awesome hat and included an autographed 8x10 of Jeff wearing it.
Shawna was the lucky recipient. I was going to post a picture of her wearing it, but after seeing how she freaked out on Layne for posting it on Facebook, I thought I’d hold off.
Sunday Kylie gave Aiden and Taylee fauxhawks.
On Monday some of the family went sledding.
Poor Dustin didn’t fare too well. Jeff ran into him with the sled and knocked him off his feet and then he hit a pole later. As a result, his tooth became loose and fell out later that day. But he was a tough little guy and got over it. Hopefully he won’t go into convulsions the next time he sees a sled.
On New Year’s Eve we played a few games with the kids like Twister,
unwrap the present (or whatever it’s official name is),
and built a snowman.
The snowman building quickly deteriorated into a “snowball” fight.
Taryn took this cute picture of Taylee:
I love that this picture shows three kids with their noses buried in their gadgets.
Aiden, Laney and Camille enjoyed watching a movie with Grandma.
While the kids were watching a movie, some of the adults played cards until the clock struck midnight.
One by one, all the kids dropped off.
Until only Makele remained. She made it all the way to midnight!
We had a fun weekend, and were a bit sad to go home and get back to reality once again.
