Two Bit Street

Jeff has been dying to go check out a "gourmet" hot dog place on 25th street for some time now. I know my buddy Jack Woods would be shocked that we went down to that street where all the "winos" hang out, but that's all in the past, my friend (or at least it was before we showed up down there)! ;) It's funny because I read this about Ogden and 25th street ("Two-Bit Street") a while ago: "although Ogden began in 1850 as a religious Mormon community, with the completion of the Union Station (in 1869) the world came into Ogden. On 25th Street, near the train station, one could witness gambling, prostitution, narcotics sales, robbery, rape and even murder. Ogden grew and became a rough city. Crime boss Al Capone (a relative of Tia's) commented in the 1920s that Ogden was too wild a town for him." I guess Jack wasn't just a jokin'!

Anywho, back to my story. Yesterday I finally gave in to Jeff's pleadings and we headed down to sample the fare. I might add the area has totally been revitalized, so I didn't have to worry too much about Jeff getting lured into a cat house.

Jeff got the "Hot dOgden" - a 1/2 lb hot dog the likes of which I've never seen before.
Jack preferred the chips -
It was nice to get out of the house and enjoy the day.

You might gather from the picture below that Jeff got into a scrap on 25th, but someone a lot meaner and tougher got the better of him...
His 5-year-old son! Jeff and Jack were playing football when Jack's head made contact with Jeff's face. Or course, with Jack's head of steel, he felt nothing, but Jeff was writhing on the floor like he was having a coronary.

And just for the heck of it, I'll end my post with two super-cute pictures of my baby boy:
