Flowell Trip

On our way down to Vegas, we stopped at my parents' house in Flowell for the night. Aiden thought it was party time and got a grand total of 2 hours of sleep that night (which means I did too). He had just stretched out on the kitchen floor and drifted off around 5:30 a.m. when my brother Landon came thundering in. He and my other brother Layne were planning on taking a pack trip and wanted to get an early start. Since I was awake anyway, I decided to load Aiden in the car and go over and enjoy the circus that always seems inevitable when rounding up horses.

Surprisingly, it was a relatively tame roundup even with three kids involved. My dad's pride and joy, Clem:
My old buddy, Frosty (I rode him in 4-h):
Chloe loved being in the middle of the action. She wasn't the least bit afraid!
No, that's not a bear in the bottom right-hand corner. ;)
The lighting was so beautiful right after the sun came up. I had to get a shot of this sunflower:
My parents and sister-in-law were so great to watch Makele and Jack while we went to Vegas. Jeff had the whole next week off work, so we stayed in Flowell. My sister and sister-in-law also came. The cousins all had so much fun playing together. It was pretty crazy at times with up to 12 kids in the house at one time.

Grandpa set up the old horse trough pool in the backyard for the kids to cool off in. Poor Dustin doesn't know what's coming:
Yep, you see this right - a broken slide from a swingset perched precariously on a broken down toy truck leading into a horse trough full of kids, yeehaw!
One day my mom took off work and we all went to the canyon for a picnic. Taryn's sister-in-law came with her 3 kids and Tia's 2 cousins and niece and nephew were there too for a grand total of 17 kids. After lunch, they waded in the creek (Dawson and Tanner decided wading wasn't good enough and dove in).

We all had so much fun. The kids loved being free to play outside the whole week with their cousins. Whenever it's time to leave, my dad always says, "oh, you can stay one more day, can't you?" Funny, he didn't say that this time! Bwahaha!

Oh my goodness, Frosty! Wow, that brings back memories. And is that the donkey that used to he-haw all the time? I love the make-shift pool, pretty cleaver. Looks like everyone had a wonderful time.
PS- Love the sunflower photo.

What a fun trip to Flowell! Yeah.. this post does bring back some memories. Not only Frosty, but isn't that the same horse trough that we waded in as kids? Looks like the kids had a blast!
