Another Day in the Life of the Neuberger Family: A Little Catch-up

Okay, so maybe it’s a huge catch-up. I have been horrible at blogging lately mainly because I haven’t had two seconds to stop and catch my breath let alone write about it. It seems like we’ve been running from one thing to the next. In the middle of May I got a new part time job writing SEO articles. Its nice because I can do it from home, but its horrible because I can do it from home. I’ve about decided I need to set up a secret office somewhere so I can write without interruption! Usually the best time for me to do it is late at night when everyone else is asleep. Still, I’m grateful to have it and it has been interesting learning about different subjects.
On May 10th, Jeff’s dad finally got his kidney transplant. We made a card out of this picture to take to him in the hospital:

Taylee keeps growing up on us – these pictures were taken May 15th:

Jack finished his soccer season in May. He had fun even though his team pretty much got beat at every game (I know this not because I was keeping score, but because Jack was!). ;) This may be the end of his soccer experience – he’s telling me he wants to do football next year (we’ll see about that).

Makele’s last week of school is always spirit week filled with fun activities. One day was crazy hair day (I put a lot of pink in her hair, but you can’t really see it here):

Another day was career day, a day where the kids get to dress up as what they want to be when they grow up. Since we didn’t think dressing up as a McDonald’s worker would be such a great idea ;) (that really is her life goal right now), we talked her into dressing up like a doctor or nurse:

Memorial Day weekend was an adventure. Shawna took Jack and Makele with her camping to Timpanogos. Taryn’s family and my mom went too.

On Saturday they hiked up to Timpanogos cave.

During the hike down the mountain, it started pouring. When they got back they discovered Shawna’s tent had a leak in it and everything was wet. They decided to pack up and head home. They got home late Saturday night. Taryn’s family and my mom stuck it out and woke up to snow on Sunday.

We didn’t fare much better here. We told Aiden we would take him to the air show on Saturday. After parking and walking 500 miles to the runway, we set up our chairs and 5 minutes later it started raining. Of course, me being the one to always think ahead had put Aiden in shorts that morning. As we were making our way back to the car, the wind picked up and it started pouring. Taylee was howling in the car seat, Aiden was whimpering and shivering and it was an all out good time. We made it to a covered place, and I ventured out into the storm to fetch our car and bring it around to pick up Jeff and the kids. Jeff did offer to go get it, but with his superb memory I had a sneaking suspicion he would never find it in the sea of cars. We did manage to get one picture before it all went downhill:

They had to stop the show for a while, but started it back up in the afternoon. When we heard the planes going over our house, we went out to take a look. Should have done this in the first place!

On Memorial Day we had a little barbeque with Shawna and Taryn’s families.

I found the cutest pattern online for footless baby sandals. I think they are the cutest things ever, even if Jeff thinks they are “impractical.”

One day Aiden thought Taylee needed a few toys to play with, so he loaded her up with Mr. Potato Head parts:
