We had a busy 4th of July. In the morning we went to Taryn & Jeremy’s for premium seats at the Hooper parade that passes right in front of their house. The kids were ready with their bags to collect as much candy as possible.
Aiden wasn’t really into running out in the road and getting the candy. Jeff just couldn’t stand by and let that happen so he got out there with him (after all if Aiden didn’t collect the candy, Jeff wouldn’t be getting any ;)).
Taylee’s first fourth of July:
I took so many pictures of this pose and this as as good as it got. Don’t ask me what Jack’s doing! Although Aiden is actually smiling!
We went home for lunch and then came back to Taryn’s in the afternoon for swimming. Jeremy had to show the kids how the slip-n-slide is done. Too bad I didn’t get a picture of that; he just about reached from one end of the slide to the other.
Bathing beauties:
That night we went back again for a BBQ and fireworks. Landon and Tia’s family came up for Tanner’s baseball tournament the next day, so they were there too. Taryn has the prime location on the 4th. Not only does the parade go right past the front of her house, the fireworks are lit off behind.
The kids loved watching Jeremy light off firework - that is until he lit one off that was a little bigger than expected. Everybody was tripping over everyone else to get the heck out of the way!
The kids all loved doing sparklers. Camille had a near miss when a big one was flung in her direction and showered her with sparks. She was okay, but it was a little bit scary.
It was a fantastic day to celebrate our country’s freedom! We are so glad Taryn and Jeremy put up with us all day long!
