The Best Day Ever

The kids and I have spent the past week visiting my parents in my hometown. Yesterday Makele told me that she had "the best day ever." She and Jack played outside all day long doing all sorts of fun activities.

In the morning they helped Grandma pick up all the apples that had fallen from the tree, and later that day we took them over to the horses for a little treat. They loved helping, and the fact that they were actually doing work never even crossed their minds. They thought it was just a fun game!

Aiden enjoyed the sunshine -

Makele helped Grandpa and Molly mow the lawn -

Makele's new favorite activity at Grandma and Grandpa's is to swing on the feedsack swing - she can't get enough of it! Even when I swung her a little too high and she fell off, she asked me through her tears, "can I still swing, Mommy?" This picture was taken the day before, but she did plenty of it yesterday too.
Grandma even hopped down into the window well to retrieve a croquet ball for Jack to play with-

We broke out the old butterfly nets and caught a couple of butterflies and grasshoppers (note: no butterflies or grasshoppers were harmed during this activity - we released them after our "observation")!

We watched the bees on the flowers -
Grandpa played a rousing game of baseball with Jack and Makele, and then Makele helped Grandpa give Molly a bath -
Jack and Makele donned their "costumes" to go visit Great Grandma Robison. The did this every night they went over there with Grandma - After all these fun and games, I don't think they're going to know what to do with themselves when we go home tomorrow!
